As anyone who knows me is aware - I have plenty of ideas. The final for this class is no exception. I'd love to continue development on The Art Machine, build a more complex keyboard, a circular theramin, different types of video games, energy machines, and more. Here are some photos.
Save The Earth
Save The Earth is a balloon game my brothers and I used to play, where we had to keep the balloon from touching the ground while batting it around the room. This game uses cleaners to prevent the earth from becoming covered in toxic sludge. Gamers would sweep the floor - mapped by kinect - to maintain a clean earth, as well as avoid dangers and try to hit power ups. The game as sketched here is simply a computer game, but I like the idea of people laughing while furiously sweeping, or swiffering.
Circular (and other) Theramins
Combining fun 3-D shapes with distance sensors connected to music notes, colors, and movements of different types would produce such a myriad of spectacles I have to stop my mind from running amok in the land of possibility. So here I've stuck to a circle and a cube, but there are many more options, particularly when combined with a separate controller.
The Advanced Art Machine
This is truly the development of the previous project executed. I love it, and want to develop it further, but do not think it is a project I will pursue, as it is too well within my comfort zone being primarily fabrication and much less heavy on the coding side. However, the interactive physical side of it is strong, and I would not be unhappy to work on it.
Human Energy Machine
This concept allows people to play with different interactive devices to see how much power they can produce, and how much certain analog devices can amplify said energy. The purpose is to show that if we can be smarter about how we apply our energy, perhaps we can be more efficient.
Fly Like an Eagle
This is perhaps my favorite project concept - but it requires skills I have none of in 3D modeling. However I love the idea of allowing people to 'spread their wings and fly' with a few simple inputs. Not only that - but I want to fly myself.
